Mastery of Self

“The Mastery of Self” by Don Miguel Ruiz Jr

Review

Members of the reading group loved this short book saying how amazed they were by the wealth of personal growth material in so few pages. They felt that it was laid out in such a way that it appeared they were being taken on a journey back through their past and around into the present. Some readers struggled with the chapters on unconditional love and understanding emotions, realizing that they still had some way to travel in their own personal development. Others found they could easily relate to the chapters on the multiple masks they wear and the habit of beating themselves up when it comes to goal setting. They thought that the exercises at the end of each chapter were surprisingly deep and they agreed that it was a book to dip into again and again whenever the need for healing arose.
